What supersports machine has a race-bred chassis offering direct, uncut connectivity and a thrilling engine spinning out a maelstrom of power and torque, wrapped in a distinct, seductive form?

The Daytona 650.

Triumph Motorcycle USA Sets Sales Record

Triumph Motorcycle USA Sets Sales Record

US New Units Sales top 7,500 for 2004. Triumph Motorcycles (America) Ltd., announced today that new retail sales topped 7,500 units for the 2004 calendar year. Triumph retailed 7,533 motorcycles in 2004, an increase of 35% over 2003, which makes Triumph the fastest growing production motorcycle company in America for 2004. In December, Triumph retailed 341 units, a 47% increase over the prior year, and the 10th record breaking month of 2004.

Triumph's success in 2004 stemmed in part from interest generated by the introduction of 2 distinctive new models; the Thruxton 900 café-racer inspired variant of the venerable Bonneville, and the awe-inspiring Rocket III 2,300cc Power Cruiser. These exciting new bikes reintroduced thousands of consumers to the Triumph brand, which led to sales increases across the model line.

Triumph looks forward to another record-breaking year in 2005. This will be the first full-season for the Rocket III, and all-new versions the innovative Speed Triple Street Fighter and Sprint ST sport tourer featuring Triumph's new 1050cc three cylinder engine will arrive in dealer's showrooms in March.

Triumph And AHRMA Post Thruxton Cup Challenge Points Fund

Triumph And AHRMA Post Thruxton Cup Challenge Points Fund

MOUNT JEWETT, Pa. -- Now there’s even more of an incentive to get involved in the Triumph Thruxton Cup Challenge — a $4,500 points fund posted by Triumph Motorcycles (America) Ltd. and the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association.

The Thruxton Cup Challenge is a spec class featuring the new Triumph Thruxton 900 and running at all AHRMA Progressive Suspension Historic Cup Series roadraces during 2005, beginning with the Bike Week warmup race on March 3 at Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, South Carolina, followed by the March 7-8 AHRMA Classics Days at Daytona International Speedway.

The series points fund comes in addition to an $800 rebate paid directly by Triumph to AHRMA-licensed racers who purchase a Thruxton for use in the 19-round national series.

AHRMA also has released the technical requirements for machines participating in the Thruxton Cup Challenge. To keep the series competitive and affordable, as well as to preserve the unique cafe-racer look of the Thruxton 900, few modifications will be allowed. Fenders, bodywork and wheels must remain standard, and treaded tires are required. The only modification allowed to the engine is multi-angle or radius valve jobs, but the exhaust system and jetting may be changed.

A complete list of technical requirements and other details about the series can be found by clicking the Thruxton Cup Challenge link at www.ahrma.org. Information on Triumph motorcycles is available at www.triumphmotorcycles.com.

AHRMA reports quite a bit of interest in the new series, with inquiries fielded from a number of individuals, race teams and motorcycle shops preparing entries. Included in that is an effort by Triumph that will see celebrity riders and journalists competing on a pair of "factory" machines.
