04/07/2005: "Bimota DB5 Launched"
The new Bimota DB5 was launched last week in Spain.
The DB5 features a 992cc Ducati motor, wrapped in a besopke chassis, with distinctive `bat-wing' styled mirrors. The old school trellis frame and swingarm are also features that set it apart from the crowd.
But it looks likely that the DB5 will cost about £15,000 in the UK - and there's no word from the factory on a dealer network, spares back-up, warranty details etc either.
Given the limited appeal of a 90bhp motorcycle, produced by a factory who may well go into receivership again in the near future, how many bikers will want to shell out big money for the DB5?
As beautiful as it is, the DB5 looks set to be a collectors item, rather like the V-Due two stroke, or the SB8
